Kino was born on March 30, 2012 in Tampa, FL to a backyard breeder off Craigslist. Lindsey adopted him June 1, 2012 and he has been the family dog ever since.
Kino started out as any puppy does, with wide eyes, a happy tail, and a never-ending appetite. As he grew into his teenage years, he wasn't always the best with other large male dogs. So Lindsey's dad took him in for a board and train lesson on how to "dog", where he was exposed to a pack of large male dogs and he quickly learned he was the toughest or biggest pooch in the pack.
In 2015, Lindsey decided to move across the country to Phoenix, AZ. Along side his kitty sister B, the three of them traveled by car with what could fit and headed west.
Once in AZ, Kino became accustomed to the heat, but even more so... the couch! He happily took on the nickname of House Hippo and has lived out his life as such.
While pitbulls tend to get a bad rap, Lindsey has always encouraged people to meet Kino and see if their minds would change. Sure enough, there hasn't been a single person Kino has met that doesn't love him immensely.
Kino now lives in senior years with his large male dog brother Maverick, kitty sisters B and C, his parents Lindsey and Dillon, and his most favorite: his human brother Mason. In November 2024 we will welcome another human brother that we can't wait for him to love on.
Many people see their first dog as a child, as Lindsey does. Kino has taught her patience, unconditional love, resilience and more. As the days dwindle down with Kino by our side, we thought there was no better way to honor his life than by dedicating this company to his legacy.
